Yeah, It’s Monday!
Mondays are always hard. The fun of the weekend is over. The grind of the workweek is beginning and the energy to get up and do it all over again doesn’t seem to be 1/16th as strong of the energy of a Friday afternoon.
It doesn’t help that everyone else feels the same way. Other folks are just trying to get through the work week and get to the other side. Music also lends itself to take a swipe at Mondays with songs like “Manic Monday” by the Bangles, “Rainy Days and Mondays” by the Carpenters “Monday, Monday “by The Mamas & The Papas and the classic “I Don’t Like Mondays” by the Boomtown Rats.
For me, Monday is the start of something new. There are so many different possibilities. It is like a mini “New Year” happening every seven days. Most diets as well as fitness regimes are started on Mondays (Mostly because we eat to excess over the weekend and then promise ourselves that come Monday, things will be different). People start new projects and jobs on Mondays. You never hear boss’ say, “Why don’t you come in on Thursday and get started with that.”
Mondays should serve to be inspirational. That no matter what happened last week; we can fix it and make it better this week. If you give up on a Monday, there are still four days to get through and there will be nothing to celebrate and enjoy when Friday rolls around.
Kick the covers off the bed, rub the sleep from your eyes and see that this could be the start of a fantastic week ahead!
